AREAS OF PRACTICE: Intellectual Property The firms Intellectual Property team offers advice and guidance in all aspects of intellectual Property . The team prides itself in providing fast and effecient IP services which include filing registration applications, renewals, assignments etc. It also oversees all IP related matters such as infringement complaints. GNP has an exceptional working relationship with the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) and the Zimbabwe Trademark and Patent Office. Corporate/Business/Institutional The firms corporate and commercial practice covers a variety of commercial and business transactions. The practice involves mainly contractual transactions between business entities, business formation and acquisition, equipment acquisition and lease, as well as litigation as required by the institutional or business clients. The range of clientele is both national and international, ranging from financial and lending institutions, media organizations, commercial distributors, land and property developers, mining concerns airlines, state enterprises, construction companies, regulators in the financial, aviation and tourism sectors, among others. Labour Consultancy The firm also offers labour consultancy services, ranging from drafting employment contracts, codes of conduct and constitutions, representation at all levels of hearings, as well as labour arbitration and litigation, employee share ownership schemes, fair labour standards, employee rights and related issues. Real Estate/ Conveyancing/ Notarial Practice In this area the firm has over the years represented various financial institutions, banks and building societies, property development companies, real estate agencies, landlords, tenants, lenders, investors, corporations and sellers and purchasers in a wide variety of real estate transactions and litigation matters. The firm has an efficient conveyancing department with set turn-around standards for most client requirements. The bulk of the work in this regard is in the field of securities i.e mortgage and notarial bonds.
