  1.The 137th Annual Meeting of the International Trademark Association
  On May 2-6, the 137th Annual Meeting 2015 of INTA was held successfully in San Diego, USA. It’s learnt that, this pageant attracted more than 9800 attendees from more than 150 count r i es and regions in the world. INTA is the world largest trademark and brand organization nowadays, and this Annual Meeting aimed to strengthen the communication and exchange among persons engaged in trademark of each country, and to convey the latest information on trademark development internationally. Now, the Annual Meeting has been held successfully for 137 times. It has become the global greatest and most animated trademark conference, and plays an important role in promoting the development of global trademark field. China Intellectual Property Magazine attended and gave a comprehensive report of the meeting as an official media partner.
  2. Bilateral Conference between SAIC and European Intellectual Property Office
  During the formal visit of Liu Junchen, deputy director general of SAIC, to the European Union in October, IP Key organized a series of tour seminars in Budapest, Prague and Warsaw, and trademark experts based with the Trademark Office of China attended conferences. The tour seminars aimed to show the latest information on Chinese trademark protection system and law enforcement. Meanwhile, IP Key would promote the bilateral conference with the Intellectual Property Office of Poland, Czech, and Hungary during the tour seminars.
  Mr. Liu Junchen also attended the WIPO Worldwide Symposium on Geographical Indication in Hungary on October 20-22. The Worldwide Symposium on Geographical Indication is held once every two years by the WIPO in cooperation with member countries interested in it. During the WIPO Symposium, Liu Junchen also met Antonio Campinos, the chairman of the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market of the EU.
  3. The Annual Meeting of the European Communities Trademark Association (ECTA) Held in Hamburg, Germany
  The 34th Annual Meeting of the European Communities Trademark Association (ECTA) was held in Hamburg, Germany on June 10-13, 2015. Nearly 1000 professionals of this field, including enterprises’ trademark supervisors, intellectual property lawyers, trademark agents, etc. from the EU as well as other countries and regions in the world, attended this pageant, and conducted broad communication.
  4.INTA Held the Seminar on “Strategy for Establishing Brand and Foreign Registered Trademarks” in Beijing Successfully
  On January 22, 2015, the Seminar on “Strategy for Establishing Brand and Foreign Registered Trademarks” was held by the International Trademark Association (INTA) in Beijing successfully. The senior level of INTA, including the CEO Mr. Etienne Sanzde Acedo, the President newly elected in 2015 Mr. J. Scott Evans and the Chief Representative of INTA China Mr. Seth Hays, etc. attended the conference and addressed speeches. Surrounding the strategy for trademark registration at abroad of Chinese enterprises, this conference deeply discussed the challenges possibly encountered by Chinese enterprises in trademark registration at abroad, and the ways to cope with the rush registration of trademark, etc.
  5. 2015 China International Trademark and Brand Festival Held in Haikou
  Approved by SAIC, jointly sponsored by China Trademark Association and Haikou People’s Government, the 2015 China International Trademark and Brand Festival was held in Haikou, Hainan Province on October 16-19, 2015. Themed with “Implementing Trademark Strategy, and Developing Brand Economy”, the Festival mainly consisted of China Trademark Annual Meeting, China Brand Expo, and a series of trademark thematic activities.Related principal of China Trademark Association expressed that, with years of practice and experience accumulation, China International Trademark and Brand Festival has now developed into a trademark and brand pageant of high specification, large scale and broad influences at home, and has aroused broad attention of domestic and overseas business circles. It has become an important platform for showing Chinese and foreign trademark and brand culture and brand connotations, summarizing and sharing the experiences of trademark and brand strategy, promoting the theoretical research, discussion, communication and cooperation of Chinese and foreign trademarks and brands, and pushing forward Chinese enterprises and Chinese brands to head for the world.
  As one of the important sections of the Festival, the 2015 China International Trademark and Brand Festival Awarding Ceremony and Welcome Reception had attracted much attention. The grand medal presentation ceremony for “Award for Outstanding Contributions to the 2015 China International Trademark and Brand Festival”, “Award for Contributions to the 2015 China International Trademark and Brand Festival”, and “Excellent Agency Member of 2015 China Trademark Association” based on appraisal and election results was announced. More than 1000 representatives from many enterprises.
  6. The Annual Meeting of China Intellectual Property Law Association Held in Guangzhou The 2015 Annual Meeting of Intellectual Property Law Association of China was opened in Guangzhou on September 19, and attracted the attendance of more than 500 IP professionals from nationwide universities and colleges, research institutions, court system, and famous enterprises. Tao Kaiyuan, Vice President of the Supreme People’s Court, Zhang Wenxian, Vice President of China Law Society, and Hu Jun, President of Jinan University delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.
  The two-day Annual Meeting, themed with “Implementing Governance by IP Laws, Guaranteeing Innovation-driven Development”, was sponsored by the Intellectual Property Law Association, and organized by the Law School & Intellectual Property School of Jinan University, and the Center for Research on Intellectual Property and Governance by Law of Jinan University.
  It’s learnt that, the organizer Jinan University of this Annual Meeting has taken the lead in establishing the first Intellectual Property School among the universities and colleges in Southern China in 2004, and it has the national first batch of undergraduate major on IP. The “Center for Research on Intellectual Property and Governance by Law of Jinan University” is the only provincial key base for research of humanistic and social subjects in the IP field of in Southern China.
  7. The 6th China IP International Annual Forum Successfully Concluded in Beijing
  The 6th China IP International Annual Forum & 2016 Annual Conference of In-house IP Managers in China, jointly organized by China IP Magazine, China Daily IPR Channel and Hurrymedia Co., Limited was successfully held in Beijing from January 23 to 24, 2016.
  Themed with “ IP Route and Strategy: Internationalization of Chinese Enterprises” the 6th China IP International Annual Forum lasted for two full days, with a training program on the second day. It has invited distinguished guests and speakers including government officials, scholars, in-house IP managers, lawyers, practitioners from IP service agencies worldwide and had attracted approximately 400 IP practitioners.
  Either in participants or in topics setting, internationalization has become the most outstanding character of this year’s Annual Forum, which also makes it different from the previous Annual Forums. Delegates from US, UK, France, Germany, Japan, Australia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Thailand, Indonesia, India attended the Forum.
  As one of the major events, the Alliance of Global Intellectual Property Service (AGIPS) was established.AGIPS, co-initiated by China Intellectual Property Magazine and China Daily IPR Channel, aims to provide a global platform for IP service institutions on information exchange, experience sharing and business cooperation by organizing activities for mutual benefits with high quality service. So far, a number of well-known and outstanding IP service institutions already applied to become AGIPS member.
