Wuxi company shows power in AI research

An internet of things project of Wuxi Zhonggan Micro Electronics Company was listed as a 2018 innovative project for deep integration of artificial intelligence and the real economy on September 5.

The project, called "research and application of artificial intelligence SoC chip supporting voice entry of the internet of things", was included in the core foundation area.

Hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, the selection process identified a total of 106 intelligent projects, including the new generation of artificial intelligence chips, applications of face recognition industrialization and cloud service technologies.

Wuxi Zhonggan Micro Electronics Company, located in the Wuxi Hi-tech district, was founded by Yang Xiaodong, an expert included in the "Thousand Talents Plan", a government-backed initiative to recruit foreign experts.

Having developed for nine years, the company owns 332 licensed patents in artificial intelligence, SoC chips and radio frequencies.
