The “13th Five-Year” Plan of Shandong on IPR Protection and Utilization was released. According to statistics revealed in the plan, as of the end of 2015, Shandong had 47,694 domestic invention patents, meaning every 10,000 persons own 4.9 such patents; 503,000 valid registered trademarks, with 425 GI trademarks, 1,040 Madrid international registered trademarks and 656 well-known trademarks; 156 applications and 122 grants for new plant varieties; and over 150,000 pieces of registered copyright works. During the “13th Five-Year” plan period, it is expected that by 2020, the target of building an IP powerhouse of Shandong can be achieved, with phased progress having been made in the key IPR fields and its comprehensive IPR strength ranking at the leading position nationwide. The main tasks involved include deepening the IPR reform, enhancing the policy system, improving the level of IPR protection and utilization and advancing the building of an IPR powerhouse of Shandong.
