BERLIN – Recent developments in connected and digital technologies are affecting the automotive industry in unprecedented ways. The core importance of legal departments is to understand what lies ahead and to be able to align the legal and business strategy in order to protect the progress and innovation of their company.

Taking place on the 26th and 27th March 2019 at the Leonardo Royal Frankfurt Hotel, Germany the summit will tackle these issues by ways of in-depth discussions and networking between OEMs, suppliers, governmental institutions, law firms and the wider automotive market to dig deep into the legal challenges that the automotive industry is facing.

The summit will be chaired by Robert Sterner, Head of Trademark & Design Enforcement from Audi AG, who will open the summit and pave way for two days of learning and networking. Keynotes from Ernst & Young GmbH and Knobbe Martens will define the tone of discussions, and the summit will also see sessions from Finnegan, Draxelmaier, Uber, Anaqua, thyssenkrupp, Grünecker, Toyota and Hyundai amongst others.

During the 2 days, this Summit will focus on intellectual property matters encumbering the automotive industry. CEO of ThyssenKrupp IP will conduct an interactive and competitive game to educate teams in creating inventions, writing invention reports, filing them, observing competitors IP and litigate IP cases.

To better understand questions about discrimination and damages models when SEPs from one industry are licensed to other industries, Legal Director of Uber Technologies Inc. will offer his outlook.
