The 2020 AIPPI World Congress was held online from October 5th to 14th. During the event, CNIPA Commissioner Shen Changyu delivered a speech via video at a dialogue of IP5 heads of office on October 13.
Dr. Shen introduced the measures CNIPA has taken amid the pandemic to protect applicants’ rights and interests, support science-based pandemic prevention and control, facilitate market players to resume work and production and strengthen international cooperation. China’s IP cause has witnessed smooth development, with a determined effort to overcome the impact of COVID-19. He proposed improving IP global governance, promoting global innovation and creating a fair business environment to cope with future challenges, adding that CNIPA will continue to work with international IP organizations and IP agencies of various countries and regions to deepen exchanges and cooperation to promote global innovation cooperation and world economic recovery.
WIPO Director General Daren Tang, EPO President Antonio Campinos, EUIPO Executive Director Christian Archambeau, JPO Commissioner Toshihide Kasutani and USPTO Director Andrei Lancu were present at the dialogue.
