Beijing investigated the first trademark infringement case of "Universal Studios"

An Atour Hotel franchise store in Tongzhou District has privately labeled its hotel "Universal Studios". The Tongzhou District Market Supervision Bureau investigated this Atour Hotel for allegedly infringing on the exclusive rights of the registered trademark of "Universal Studios" due to unauthorized use of the words "Universal Studios" to engage in business activities. This is also the first "Universal Studios" trademark infringement case investigated by Beijing.
 
After inspection and evidence collected on-site, the person be reported was suspected of infringing on the exclusive right to use a registered trademark. The law enforcement officers ordered the hotel to stop the infringement immediately and required the relevant person in charge to come to the market supervision department for investigation.
