On June 24, the national conference on local IPR strategy work sponsored by State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) and undertaken by Sichuan Provincial Intellectual Property Office was held in Chengdu. Deputy Director of SIPO Gan Shaoning pointed out at the conference that, with 2 years' advancement, the implementation of intellectual property (IP) strategy was recognized by local party committee and the government, with great achievements.
Gan Shaoning put forward 6 opinions on the implementation of local strategy, including further advancing the institution and implementation of the local IP strategy, reinforcing the guidance and making regional IP strategy or policy, deepening the implementation of the strategy and boosting the valuation of the implementation, carrying out the model work and facilitating the IP appraising for big economic activities, and offering supportive services and building fine environment for the implementation of IP strategy.

Related representatives from SIPO, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, National Copyright Administration and State Administration for Industry and Commerce introduced the implementation work by national governmental organs and principals from intellectual property offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Guizhou and Sichuan presented the experience of IP strategy implementation. Over 120 representatives from national IP system attended the meeting.

It is learnt that, as of June 4 in 2010, there were 22 provinces that have issued local opinions on the implementation of IP strategy.
