Copyright registration for works of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan can be done in Fujian

2010/07/01

It is learnt from Wu Shulin, Vice Director of the General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP) that Fujian has become the first province in Mainland that can directly receive copyright registration of works from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan province, which ensured the substantial protection to all the copyrighted works from these four regions.
Wu Shulin introduced that, as a pilot base for the exchanges across Taiwan Straits, Fujian lies in the leading position in protecting copyrights through cooperation, particularly Xiamen city, an exchange and cooperative base across Taiwan Straits for press and publication. On June 18, five animation corporations from Taiwan officially passed the examination by Fujian Bureau of Press and Publication and gained registration certificates for their works. This is the first time that Taiwan works were certified in Mainland.
