Liaoning uncovered 93 suspected products involved in improper use of patents

According to information released on February 16 from Liaoning Intellectual Property Bureau (hereinafter referred to as LIPB), law enforcement investigation on patent piracy has achieved great results. Since January, 2011, patent law enforcement officials have investigated 560 patent products in Benxi, Yingkou, Fushun, Dandong, Liaoyang and Tieling and identified 93 suspected products involved in improper use of patents.

These 93 suspected products were found involved in illegal activities such as forging patents and operating with expired and unauthorized patents. Recently, LIPB has announced the first batch of 20 suspected products to the public and requires the patent owners and enterprises involved to come to LIPB for further investigation within 3 months.

50 patent law enforcement officials from 6 cities participated in this law enforcement activities. They have investigated places where high-tech and agricultural products are produced and where the commodities are circulated, focusing on commodities such as home appliances, apparel, food and medicines.
