Shanghai convened a conference on promotion of authorized software

Tu Guangshao, vice mayor of Shanghai, attended the conference on promotion of authorized software, requiring every department to launch systematic management measures, abundant funds, effective supervision and evaluation mechanism to ensure that Shanghai did well in promoting authorized software in China.

Tu pointed out that software industry was a leading and basic industry and promotion of the authorized software was in compliance with the requirement of Outline of National Intellectual Property Strategies. He noted that it was important and necessary to use genuine software to speed up innovation and required relevant departments to ensure the successful implementation of intellectual property policies and strategies on software, to perfect systems on information sharing and consultation, to help reduce the cost in using licensed software and to simulate the initiative and enthusiasm on the usage of authorized software. He stressed that law enforcement and investigation were also indispensable for keeping the market in good order and appropriate announcements and training would create a pleasant environment where intellectual property rights on software were well respected and protected.
