Chinese Patenting Overseas Sees Sustainable Growth in First Half

Latest numbers from United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), European Patent Office (EPO), Japan Patent Office (JPO) and Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) reveal that patenting (invention) from China continues its momentum in the first half of 2011.


From January to June, Chinese nationals filed 3,025 applications with the USPTO, up 2.9%; 1,014 in EPO, down-0.9%; 530 in JPO, up 4.5%; 287 before KIPO, up 11.7%. Number show that growth rates for all applications in USPTO, EPO, and JPO were down -2.2%、-2.0%、-2.1%, with KIPO is alone in an upward journey at 0.6%.
