Man Gets 3 Year for Distributing Counterfeit Honeywell Products

Shanghai People's Court of Putuo District recently rendered a judgment on selling counterfeit Honeywell and Genetron registered trademark commodities. The defendants, the manager of the company in Shanghai surname Tian was sentenced to three years imprisonment and three years of probation, a fine of 30,000 yuan, and his company paid 200,000 yuan.


In June 2010, Tian printed Honeywell and Genetron trademark on refrigerants cylinders and package and sales out with sales volume of 470,000 yuan. In December 2010, Shanghai Industry and Commerce Administration Putuo Branch set up a special task group on this case. With the assistance of experts of Honeywell Company, The group recalls all the counterfeit refrigerants across six provinces and imposed a fine of 1.28 million yuan on distributors. After finished procedure, the administration transferred the case to the Shanghai Public Security Bureau Putuo Branch.


In order to make huge profits, Tian began to distribute counterfeit Honeywell and Genetron refrigerants throughout China. The refrigerant is dangerous chemical products which are stored in pressurized container. The counterfeit refrigerant, however, may bright up security risks.
