Fujian saw a 58.91% rise in invention patent grants

In 2011, Fujian saw a 21% rise in approved patent applications to 21,857, in which, 1,945 were on inventions, increasing by 58.91% from 1,224 in 2010.

Statistics show that in 2011, Fujian received a total of 32,325 patent applications, up 46.97%, in which, 6,896 were on inventions, up 34.79%, 16,688 were on utility models, up 53.88%, and 8,741 were associated with designs, up 44.86%.

In addition, invention applications under PCT in the province reached 319, up 19.03%.

As of the end of 2011, the province has owned 5,025 identified invention patents, up 52.5%. Invention patents per ten thousand people reached 1.362.

Enterprises in the province submitted 19,340 patent applications, taking up 59.83% of the total applications filed in the province in 2011. Among them, 13,334 applications were approved, accounting for 61.01% of the total grants. In addition, 3,662 invention patent applications were filed by enterprises, accounting for 53.1%, in which, 964 were granted, taking up 49.56%.
