The objectives of the Shanghai International Technology Exchange Center are to hold the Shanghai International Technology Import and Export Fair and build the China International Technology Trade Center. The Shanghai International Technology Import and Export Fair, organized by China's Ministry of Commerce and co-organized by the People's Government of the Shanghai Municipality, is a comprehensive technology trade expo that engages the participation of international organizations and renowned enterprises. In three to five years, it aims to become the most influential comprehensive exhibition that is the largest in domestic technology trade, and of the highest quality. The China International Technology Trade Center will provide a matchmaking opportunity for China's domestic enterprises to import advanced international technologies and to export its technologies, thus improving the success rate for such technology trade. In the future, by keeping up with the latest developments in the international hi-tech industry and trade, the Shanghai International Technology Exchange Center will give the full play to the role of trade in allocation of technical resources. It aims to build a Shanghai-based comprehensive public-service platform, with a widespread influence on the areas in the Yangtze River delta. It is targeted at serving the country and integrating with the entire world.
