Last year, Anhui saw a rapid growth in trademark applications, with 28,000 newly filed trademark applications and 18,000 newly registered trademarks. Thus the total amount of issued trademarks in the province recorded 87,800, according to information released by Anhui Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce.

As the result of the efforts made by the province to raise the quality of trademarks, it has owned as many as 1,131 Anhui Famous Trademarks to date, with 324 newly added last year. 

30 Chinese Well-known Trademarks in the province were newly recognized in 2011, covering all the 16 cities of Anhui for the first time. Among them, 23 were filed by enterprises in Wangjiang Demonstration Park, accounting for 76.7% of the total. Moreover, trademarks on geographical indications increased by 13, totaling 34.

In addition, 18 districts (counties) and 15 outstanding enterprises were identified as trademark exemplary bases and businesses respectively.

This year, Anhui pledged to continuously promote trademark registrations, filings on Chinese Well-known Trademarks and Anhui Famous Trademarks in particular, improve mark protection systems and make full play of trademark strategies in stepping up economic development mode transformation. [Chinese version is available on epaper.anhuinews.com]
