On April 9, the website for China’s crackdown upon infringement and piracy and the online exhibition of China’s credit enterprises were officially started. The Office Dean of National Leading Group for Combating IPR Infringement and Counterfeits and Vice Minister of Commerce, P. R. China Jiang Zengwei and Vice Director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council Huang Shuhe attended the opening ceremony. Representatives from 29 member units and 16 national trade associations were also attracted. 

To fulfill the Opinions of the State Council on Further Cracking down on IPR Infringements and the Production and Sales of Counterfeit and Forged Commodities and strengthen the publicity of relevant work, the National Leading Group for Combating IPR Infringement and Counterfeits decided to open a website for combating IPR violation and counterfeits. The website is hosted by the National Leading Group Office for Combating IPR Infringement and Counterfeits and its members and undertaken by China Network TV with the purpose of releasing authoritative information on China’s combating IPR violation and counterfeits.

The construction of credit system is one of the important parts in establishing long term mechanism on curbing IPR violation and counterfeits. The online exhibition for China’s credit businesses was guided by the Ministry of Commerce and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission and undertaken by China Network TV, collectively exhibiting credit-worthy enterprises above A-class so as to set up examples and encourage more enterprises to do business legally. 

Jiang Zengwei said in his remarks that protecting IPR and combating IPR infringement and counterfeits is an urgent need in enhancing China’s indigenous innovative ability and building innovation-based country and also an objective requirement in improving people’s livelihood and safeguarding the public’s interests. In consideration of basic national conditions, curbing IPR violation and counterfeits will be a long hard work.
