Creative competition on industrial design kicked off in China

In a bid to stimulate the enthusiasm of inventors and further publicize the IP protection, a creative competition on industrial design was hosted by Hangzhou municipal people's government and organized by Hangzhou Intellectual Property Office under the theme "Innovations in design and upgrading in industry".

It is the fifth time for Hangzhou to host such a competition since 2007 with the purpose of fostering more IP talents and harnessing industrial designs to promote economic development mode transformation.

This year, the event attracted 31 enterprises to undertake preliminary competitions. Before the competitions officially kicked off, professors and experts were invited to conduct mobilizations in academies at home and abroad.

During the five years, more than 300 entries of the overall 15,000 entries from over 100 academies at home and abroad have been industrialized and generated about 200 million yuan worth of revenue.
