Online copyright and trademarks protection discussed

In a bid to ensure the smooth launch of the judicial interpretations on the Provisions on Several Issues concerning the Applications of Law in the Trial of Civil Dispute Cases Arising from Online Information Distribution Infringement, a seminar on protecting online copyright and trademarks was hosted by the Supreme People’s Court and organized by Chongqing Municipal Higher People's Court and China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment in Chongqing to seek amendment suggestions on the provisions from more than 40 judges, attorneys and consultants from provinces and municipalities including Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing and Guangdong.

At the meeting, attendees have exchanged ideas and insights on issues regarding the liabilities of online service providers of storage space, searching links and trading platforms, as well as problems on key-word advertisements. Difficulties in the process of judging cases on Chinese Well-known Trademark violations and anti-cybersquatting have also been discussed.
