Shanghai: governmental departments use legal software

2012/07/17

As of last October, Shanghai had accomplished the inspection and rectification work on software legalization in governmental departments at city level.

CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee and Shanghai Municipal People’s Government have been attaching great importance to IPR protection and software legalization work, particularly the model role of governmental departments in IPR protection. In 2001, Shanghai Municipal People’s Government signed a package of agreements with Microsoft Corporation to purchase software, which ensured the supply of legal software to governmental departments at city level. Since 2005, the governmental departments at district and county level gradually realized software legalization.

It is understood that Shanghai financial organs at city level deployed 22 million yuan to buy authorized software, and 17 people’s governments at district or county level paid 38.177 million yuan for 11,816 sets of operating system software, 17,939 sets of office software and 2,050 sets of antivirus software to meet the need of grass-root governmental departments to legal software.
