Liaoning: Fushun targets piracy in audiovisual market

Fushun, Liaoning Province -  An enforcement group under the municipal public security, in concert with the city's cultural administration department, recently raided a local audiovisual market that has aroused much complaint due to rampant piracy.

After scientific reasoning and sufficient evidence collecting, the officials were divided into four teams and attacked four dens producing and distributing pirated audiovisual products, with over 11 thousand pieces of illegal optical discs seized and four suspects controlled.

The suspects all confessed to their unlawful behaviors and were detained pending trial for infringing copyright under Article 217 of the Criminal Law of China.

The case is still under investigation.
