China will see a twofold increase in patents in forestry by 2015

According to the 12th Five-Year Plan on science and technology in forestry, issued by the State Forestry Administration recently, key scientific and technological achievements in forestry are expected to hit 2,000 pieces and patents in the industry are projected to double.

Under the plan, China will focus on key technologies in crucial areas in forestry and will conduct researches on high tech ahead of schedule. By 2015, the commercialization rate of advanced technologies in forestry will reach 50%, an innovation system complying with the development requirement of the industry will be initially established, and innovative competence of the industry will be significantly increased.
