Anhui: Patent applications in Hefei hit 6,208

In the first half of 2012, Hefei, a city in Anhui province, saw its patent applications reach 6,208, up 31% (29.5% lower than the provincial average growth rate) and accounting for 20.1% of the total filings in the province. Among them, patents registered for inventions, utility models and designs amounted to 1,869, 3,126 and 1,213 respectively, up 21%, 40% and 26.1% separately.

According to statistics, local enterprises filed 4,570 applications, taking up 73.6% of the total, while individuals, academies, research institutes and governmental departments submitted 821, 525, 278 and 14 applications respectively. In terms of districts, Baohe District and High-tech District delivered 1,604 and 1,099 submissions, up 40.2% and 111.3% respectively.
