In the first half of 2012, the percentage of concluded IP cases in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region hit 90%, while the withdrawal rate of IP cases of first instance recorded 70.2%, both showing an upward trend.

In the first six months, the region received more IP civil cases of both first and second instance, from a total of 444 cases in 2011 to 285 cases justin the first half of 2012. Although most cases were still in the fields of copyright, patent, trademark and unfair competition, a certain proportion werefiled with respect to new plant varieties, folk arts and internet domain names. Cases on copyright still accounted for more than half of all IP cases.
