Jiangxi tackled IP cases valued at 200 mln in the first eight months

In the first eight months, the administrative enforcement organs in Jiangxi province filed a total of 7,107 cases involving 69 million yuan, in which 909 cases were concluded, 25 were transferred to judicial departments. 116 illicit dens producing and selling counterfeit commodities were destroyed.

During the same period, public security organs in the province investigated 257 cases valued at 200 million yuan and arrested 198 suspects; the procuratorates approved the arrest in 108 cases and detained 179 suspects; the courts accepted five criminal cases, heard five cases and ruled three cases.

In the final quarter of this year, the province will focus on key commodities including food, drugs, Chinese medicine, medical equipment and materials to secure the safety of the pubic, as well as chemical fertilizers, pesticides and seeds to protect farmers’ interest. Relevant departments are required to further investigate illegal activities such as trademark counterfeiting and patents or copyright infringingment.
