At Zhongguancun IPR Financial Innovation Conference held on December 10th, Zhongguancun IPR Promotion Bureau declared the first 24 companies participating in patent insurance. Those companies will be able to enjoy such services as patent risk management consulting, patent insurance program designing and patent insurance covering.

Director of Zhongguancun IPR Promotion Bureau Xu Zhengxiang introduced, "It pushes forward the innovation process in IPR and financial fields for Zhongguancun to launch patent insurance experimental units." Up to now, Beijing has selected 24 promising and innovative units as patent insurance experimental units, including Beijing Aerospace Measure & Control Technology Co., Ltd. and Baidu Online Network Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd.

As advantageous enterprises in Zhongguancun and Beijing, Beijing patent demonstration enterprises took up 58.3% of patent insurance experimental units; Zhongguancun enterprises accounted for 41.7%.

Beijing has released patent enforcement insurance. Any enterprise purchasing such an insurance product will be compensated with investigation fees and legal fees by insurance companies according to contract once the patents of insurants are infringed by third parties during the term of insurance. Up to now, there have been 113 patent insurance experimental units.

In addition, Beijing are recruiting patent insurance broking companies and legal service agencies to provide professional support especially in insurance program design, insurance covering and compensation claiming for experimental units.

Any enterprise and public institution in Zhongguancun National Indigenous Innovation Model Zone can apply for patent insurance experimental unit. Beijing patent pilot demonstration enterprises, Zhongguancun "10-100-1,000 Project" enterprise and gazelle enterprises and "Golden Seed Project" enterprises take precedence.
