SIPO set up green channels for IPR protection

2013/05/17

The State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) will continue strengthening IPR protection and enforcement in 2013. Centering on key regions and industries, a number of green channels for IPR protection will be set up to carry forward the establishment of a deployment mechanism applied to a systematic or regional enforcement undertaking and further strengthen IPR protection.

According to a symposium entitled “Respect intellectual property value and protect legal rights of businesses”, IPR cases handled in China keep a notable increase and administrative law enforcement increasingly improves. While patents are playing a prominant role in occupying market share, mass and repeated infringements continue to be the most common crimes. Transregional cases baffle IPR protection. It is thus of great priority to reinforce cross-regional IPR administrative enforcement.
