Fujian: Patent applications and grants in Jinjiang in Q1 soaring

According to statistics released by the State Intellectual Property Office, in the first three months this year, patent applications in Jinjiang reached up to 1,357, soaring by 204.95% on a year-on-year basis, in which 99 were on inventions, up 167.57%, and 356 on utility models, up 65.58%. In the same period, patent grants in the city recorded 913, jumping by 285.23%, in which 34 were on inventions, up 112.5%, 466 on utility models, up 163.28% and 413 on designs. Furthermore, as of March 2013, every ten thousand residents in the city have owned 1.07 invention patents at average.
