Zhejiang: Lishui convened workshop on IP service and protection

A workshop on intellectual property service and protection was hosted by Lishui Science and Technology Bureau in Zhejiang province on December 13, which reviewed experience gained in 2013 and explored new working ideas in 2014.


At the workshop, participants analyzed opportunities and challenges faced by the city with respect to intellectual property protection in new environment and proposed suggestions and advices on further implementing intellectual property strategies.


Gong Qixian, Deputy Director of the Bureau, applauded support and assistance provided by stakeholders and reiterated the importance of this workshop when addressing the opening ceremony. Then Shen Yifeng, head of department of the Bureau, introduced accomplishments made in 2013 in this regard in terms of patent applications and grants, pilot entities authorization, patent enforcement, and patent pledged financing. He also talked about a new roadmap in 2014 which involves the building of an IP service center and an assistance center. A judge of the municipal intermediate court shared best practices in the course of IP trail proceedings.


At the conclusion part of the meeting, Gong reaffirmed three key factors which are necessary to promote intellectual property development in the city, including dissemination and education, innovation, and talents team building.
