Two companies in Xiamen disputing about using same photos in websites

Some time ago, the Siming District People’s Court, Xiamen Province heard a case involving copyright of automobile part photos, which received great attention from the society. The Siming District People’s Court finally determined automobile part photos constituted works specified in Copyright Law. In the first instance, the court judged Xiamen Yilianda Import & Export Co., Ltd (Yilianda) constituted infringement and shall compensate Xiamen Hefeng Import & Export Co., Ltd. for economic losses and reasonable expenses, totaling to 42,800 yuan.
