The Dispute upon Subtitles: YYeTs vs. Tudou, Inc.

On October 1st 2014, YYeTs, one of the most influential subtitle workshop in China, sent a message on its official Weibo (the MicroBlog, a popular social network in China), accusing that Tudou, Inc. (one of the largest video-sharing website in China) plagiarized its original subtitles without naming the translators in a famous American reality TV show The Voice that Tudou, Inc. broadcast online. However, when YYeTs tried to negotiate with the Tudou, Inc., it was unexpectedly blamed by the latter cooperation for illegally translating the subtitles without authorization. This issue arouses hot discussions among netizens in China. So far, Tudou, Inc. has not yet made any official response.
