First Chinese Member Elected AIPPI Vice President

Recently, International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) held AIPPI World Intellectual Property Congress 2014 in Toronto, Canada. Ma Hao, Director of the Patent and Trademark Law Office of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and Vice President of All China Patent Attorneys Association (ACPAA), was elected Vice President of AIPPI, becoming the first Chinese member of the Bureau of AIPPI.


Over 1400 members from around the world attended the convention. At the second executive committee of the convention, Ma Hao was elected Vice President of the Bureau of AIPPI. AIPPI Bureau is the executive body of AIPPI. Members of the Bureau include President, Vice President, Secretary General, Assistant Secretary General, Reporter General, Deputy Reporter General, Treasurer General and other positions. The Bureau is responsible for organizing and supervising all kinds of activities of AIPPI.


Founded in 1897 and with its headquarters in Switzerland, AIPPI is one of the earliest international intellectual property rights associations. Currently, there are over 9,000 members from more than 100 nations and regions in the world. AIPPI is organized into 64 National and 2 Regional Groups. The Chinese National Group of AIPPI was founded in 1982 and now has over 350 members, which aims to enhance intellectual property protection both in China and around the world and promote foreign economic and trade cooperation.
