Xiaomi and Dolby Achieves Patent Cooperation

Xiaomi announced that it has signed a Patent License Agreement with Via Licensing to use the patented technology in Via’s Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) patent pool, which enables consumers to enjoy high-quality audio with high compression efficiency, reducing the amount of data consumed and processing power required. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dolby Laboratories, Via Licensing Corporation has more than 50 years of experience in technology license and innovation license in sectors including audio, broadcast, wireless and automobile technology. Last year, Via filed lawsuits against OPPO and vivo because of their infringement on its AAC patent right, could not sell their phones in India until they paid the license fees.
