A national pilot portal of public intellectual property services, which went online in the provincial capital Xi'an on February 24, features shared research resources for both civil and national defense purpose. The online platform includes an IP market and a big data service center, and is designed to promote the interactive development of civil and national defense industries. The Ministry of Finance and the State Intellectual Property Office began to develop the public service platform in the northwestern province in 2015.
