Bilateral Co-Operation Plans Signed with Latvia And Lithuania

EPO President has signed bilateral co-operation plans with the heads of the patent offices of Latvia and Lithuania. Both agreements renew existing partnerships with the offices and provide a new framework for cooperation in areas such as IT projects and training.
Sandris Laganovskis, Director of the Latvian Patent Office, said: "The Latvian Patent Office highly values the bilateral cooperation activities with the EPO and is looking forward to the implementation of the new three-year plan. We are particularly interested in automation projects, and wish to strengthen IT tools and services for the benefit of our users."
The EPO co-operates closely with the patent offices of its 38 member states. Joint activities currently focus on three main areas: training, IT services and tools, and patent information tools and services.
