From May 31 to June 1, the Tenth Meeting of IP5 Heads of Office, the Meeting of IP5 Heads of Office with IP5 Industry and the Meeting of IP5 Deputy Heads of Office were held in Valetta, Malta. The meetings were chaired by Beno?t Battistelli, President of the European Patent Office (EPO). Attending the meetings were Shen Changyu, Commissioner of State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO), Michelle K. Lee, Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Yoshinori Komiya, Commissioner of Japan Patent Office (JPO), and Young Dae Lee, Deputy Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO). Deputy Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) John Sandage also participated as an observer.
The Year 2017 marks the tenth anniversary of the cooperation between the IP5 in the field of invention and the fifth year of cooperation between the IP5 and industry. During the meeting, the five heads concluded the achievements of the past ten years’ cooperation and discussed future cooperation.
