The 3rd Trial and Appeal Experts Meeting between the State Intellectual Property Office of the People's Republic of China (SIPO) and the Japan Patent Office (JPO) was held at the JPO in Tokyo, Japan, attended by Mr. LIU Ming, Director of the Patent Reexamination Board (PRB) of the SIPO with his colleagues and Mr. Toshihide ABE, Executive Chief Administrative Judge of the JPO with his colleagues. At this meeting, they exchanged information regarding the trial and appeal systems and statistics. They also exchanged opinions regarding the principles of oral proceedings. Furthermore, the JPO and the SIPO confirmed the importance of deepening their cooperative relationship and mutual understanding in the field of trials and appeals through exchanging information and opinions.
