On the morning of September 4, SIPO Commissioner Shen Changyu met with Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) President Saule Tlevlessova and her delegation in Beijing. Both sides exchanged in-depth views on further deepening bilateral cooperative relations, and signed a Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) Memorandum of Understanding and Data Exchange Agreement.
In 2007, SIPO and EAPO signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Cooperation and thus established their bilateral cooperative relations. For the PPH Memorandum of Understanding signed this time, a piloting project will be launched on April 1, 2018, which will help applicants from the two sides have their patents granted overseas as soon as possible. The signed Data Exchange Agreement will promote the dissemination and utilization of the two offices' patent data worldwide, further expand their data resources, help patent examiners better perform their patent examination responsibilities, and thus provide the public with better patent information service.
