The 1st JPO- DIPP Review Meeting Held

Recently, Commissioner Munakata of the Japan Patent Office (JPO) visited Dehli, India and the 1st JPO-DIPP Review Meeting with Mr. Ramesh Abhishek, Secretary of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), was held.
In the meeting, the JPO and DIPP reviewed the Action Plan based on the “Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) in the field of industrial property between Japan and India” signed in 2015, while discussed the future cooperative activities according to the Action Plan that was renewed in 2017. Furthermore, they agreed to continue and strengthen cooperative relations, and adopted a joint statement. The JPO will continue to make efforts in cooperation with the DIPP and improve the IP environment in India that will enable IP rights to be quickly and smoothly obtained and properly protected.
