The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the State Council held the State Science and Technology Awarding Meeting of China in Beijing on the morning of January 8. Xi Jinping, general secretary of CPC, state president and the president of central military commission firstly issued award certificates to the academician of Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Wang Zheshi who obtained 2017 Highest Science and Technology Awards, and the academician, Hou Yunde who worked in National Institute For Viral Disease Control and Prevention of Chinese Center For Disease Control And Prevention. Xi shook hands with them to express congratulations. Subsequently, Xi Jinping, other parties and state leaders presented awards to representatives who got National Natural Science Awards, State Technological Invention Award, National Award for Science and Technology Progress, China International Science and Technology Cooperation Award.
