Chile Starts to Provide ISA and IPEA Service in English Since January 1

Since January 1, National Institutes of Industrial Property of Chile (INAPI) provides service to the public in Spanish and English languages as an International Search and Examination Authority (ISA/IPEA). Applicants who search patent protection via PCT route can receive international search report and preliminary examination report in English issued by INAPI. Besides applicants from Chile, it will also make positive effects on applicants in Latin America and Caribbean, such as Columbia, Cuba, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama and Peru etc. If above applicants designate INAPI as ISA or IPEA, the measure made by PCT department of INAPI reflects the importance of innovation in this region.
