Zhengzhou IP Tribunal in Henan Province Inaugurated

2018/03/13

On March 2, Zhengzhou IP Tribunal was officially launched. This is the fifteenth IP tribunal of China, following Tianjin, Changsha, Xi’an, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Jinan, Qingdao, Fuzhou, Hefei, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Suzhou, Wuhan and Chengdu. Now, the 15 local IP tribunals have been all set up nationwide. In combination with previously established three IP courts in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, a new landscape of “15 plus 3” major IPR protection has been formed. Since August 2012, the IP Tribunal of Zhengzhou Intermediate People’s Court has heard 11,681 IPR-related cases and closed 10,525 of them, with the case settlement rate of 90.1%. In those cases, 5,254 cases were looked into and 4,606 cases were closed in 2017.
