ASEAN IP Offices Deepen Cooperation With Korean IP Office With Memorandum of Cooperation Signing

ASEAN IP Offices and the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) inked a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) on 27 March 2018, signaling deeper cooperative efforts between Korea and ASEAN. The MOC covers various areas of cooperation such as IP training, commercialization and information exchange. With total bilateral merchandise trade reaching USD 124.3 billion, and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) inflows from the Republic of Korea (ROK) to ASEAN recorded at USD 5.7 billion, the ROK was ASEAN’s fifth largest trading partner and fifth largest source of FDI in 2016.
