Hubei: to Create Growth Pole in IPR Field

In 2017, the patent applications of Hubei exceeded 100,000 to 110,234, a year-on-year increase of 15.84%,; among which the invention patent applications totaled 51,569, up by 17.77% year on year; the international patent applications submitted by Hubei through Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) exceeded 1,000 to 1,290, with a year-on-year growth rate of 74.09%, making Hubei rank the 7th nationwide and the only province in Midwest of China with over 1,000 PCT applications; patent applications submitted by enterprises scored the record high, accounting for 55.29% of the total; the number of invention patents held by every 10,000 persons in Hubei was 6.87, up by 27.46% year on year.
