Gary Rice
Gary is Chairman, Head of sport and a Partner in the public and regulatory unit.
 
An advisor on the implications for public and private bodies of national and international policy and regulation, he has extensive experience acting for regulatory, representative and State bodies on a wide range of matters.
 
He advises his clients on the interpretation of legislation, policy development, regulation enforcement, commercial and contractual issues, disciplinary matters, competition law, changes in legislation, discrimination issues and a wide range of statutory, legal and evidential matters.
 
Gary acts for a significant number of client bodies and organisations involved in the promotion, regulation and business of sport. He advises on all aspects of sports law including anti-doping regulation and enforcement, sponsorship and promotion, disciplinary matters, competition law and regulation, broadcasting and intellectual property rights.
 
Gary has been recognised for his work by a number of independent international commentators and guides including the European Legal 500, Chambers Global and European Legal Experts.
 
Gary qualified as a solicitor in 1987 and became a partner in 1998. Gary was appointed Chairman in May 2008.
