The 13th BRICS Heads of Intellectual Property Offices Meeting 2021

The 13th BRICS Heads of Intellectual Property Offices Meeting (HIPO) was held virtually on 25th August 2021 under the Chairship of India. Shri Rajendra Ratnoo, Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (India) chaired the meeting. Dr. Shen Changyu, Commissioner of CNIPA (China), Adv Rory Voller, Commissioner of CIPC (South Africa), Mr. Cláudio Vilar Furtado, President of INPI (Brazil), and Mr. Grigory Ivliev, Director General of ROSPATENT (Russia) attended the meeting along with their respective delegations.

 

The delegations exchanged their views on a wide range of issues, including intellectual property (IP) processes and procedures, collaboration at international fora, IP awareness, information services, IP strategies, training of IP Office staff, digital projects, Geographical Indications, and successful IP practices in the respective jurisdictions.
