2022/08/03

On July 20, the 32nd Meeting of the China-France Mixed Committee on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) was held via video conference. Shen Changyu, Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), and Pascal Faure, Director General of France’s National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI, standing for Institut national de la propriété industrielle in French) attended the meeting and exchanged in-depth views on the latest work of the two sides and future cooperation.

Shen Changyu said that China and France are comprehensive strategic partners, and France is an important trading partner of China. China and France have broad space for intellectual property cooperation. CNIPA is willing to promote cooperation between the two countries in IPR to provide better services to the public and right holders of both countries. The regular holding of meetings of the China-France Mixed Committee has pushed forward the practical cooperation in information exchange and personnel training. With the entry into force of the China-France Protocol on Cooperation in Geographical Indications and the China-EU Agreement on Geographical Indications, it is hoped that the two sides will conduct more cooperation in the field of geographical indications.
