2009/10/26

Lately, Director of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) Tian Lipu met the visiting group led by Chairman of the EU Chamber of Commerce in China Joerg Wuttke in Beijing. Both sides exchanged ideas about the intellectual property issues interested.

Tian pointed out that, China and European Union have developed fine cooperative relationship in all fields. European Union has become the biggest trading partner and the main source for the investment, and will maintain the top exporting market for China. Chinese government attaches great importance to the intellectual property rights (IPR) protection and SIPO is striving to consummate IPR protection in China, including the protection of IPRs and the law enforcement system. China welcomes Chairman Wuttke and the EU Chamber of Commerce in China as always, and also concrete comments and suggestions on the SIPO’s work. Straight-out communication will deepen the comprehensive understanding for each other to avoid misunderstandings and overcome practical problems.

Wuttke introduced the development of the EU Chamber of Commerce in China and summarized main changes in the latest edition of the “European Business in China Position Paper 2009/2010”. The working group representing the EU Chamber of Commerce in China introduced issues relating to the SIPO in the position paper.
