Co-sponsored by the IP Development & Research Center of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), the National Science & Technology Infrastructure Center, Henan Science and Technology Department and Henan Provincial IP Office, the 5^th International Symposium on Enterprise IP Strategy was conducted in Zhengzhou, the capital city of Henan province. Deputy Governor of Henan Xu Jichao and the IP Consultant and Chairman of China Patent Protection Association Wang Jingchuan attended and delivered the symposium.

Wang Jingchuan pointed out that, the process of internationalization of the IP system led by developed countries was deepened, innovative technologies and IPR have become the strategic resources of a nation in the development. Wang stressed that, implementing IP strategy and raising the ability of IP creation, use, protection and management has become the main brace for China to cope with financial crisis and ensure the harmonious and sustainable development of economy and society.

Xu Jichao put forward that, the construction of independent innovation system has gradually developed into the base of system and the guarantee of mechanism in inspiring creation and elevating independent innovation ability and core competitiveness. Enterprises are not only the main body of market economy, but also the main body of carrying out IP system. Henan is a big city in population and resources. Xu hoped that the symposium could promote the enterprises in Henan to well fulfill IP strategy and boost the development of the IP cause of Henan.
