Made in China, made in world

2009/12/02

A morning exerciser is bending over and tying the shoes marked with “made in China, combined with American technology”; a family is having breakfast, and the refrigerator beside them is marked with “made in China, amalgamated with French fashion”; two fashionable girls is walking on the street, with MP3 annotated by “made in China, supported by Silicon Valley software”…

This is a 30 seconds’ commercial advertisement launched by Ministry of Commerce of the P.R.C together with four chambers of commerce on CNN. It aims at telling the world that “made in China” is not the pronoun of cheap products, and “made in China” is also “made in world”. Just as the advertisement said in the end, “when we talked about ‘made in China’, it also means together with the world,” which stressed that “made in China” is the fruit of the global cooperation.

Presently, the financial crisis results in protectionism; as export country, China is facing the strongest trade barrier for the first time, and “made in China” has become an excuse of some countries for their protectionist behaviors. Under such conditions, it is just the suitable time to tell the information that “made in China” contains international cooperation and benefit sharing.

In fact, with the deepening of the globalization, cooperation and blending of all kinds of economy is growing. Every product combines with different parties’ contributions, from ideas, designing, manufacturing, branding to marketing. The advertisement just embodies the significance of blending, cooperation and win-win.
